From the website: This all-purpose vest is made from SuppleTUFF, a blended woven fabric as soft as brushed cotton but super resistant to abrasion and wear. Unlike cottons, it won’t absorb moisture, and unlike canvas it’s not stiff. Details: women’s cut, front and rear loading bird bag, deep snap-close front shell pockets, Velcro-close inside security pocket, excellent price point. Sizes: S, M, L, XL
Finding a ladies gamebird vest was no easy feat. I asked around and read many reviews, but most of the few available options were much too big for me. I was looking for something with a bird bag and pockets, which drew me to this vest. The website did not have a size chart, so I took a gamble and ordered a size small.
Out of the box, I really liked the vest. It's small, a nice texture, and very bright. Once on, the vest fits nicely, but is on the smaller side and would not fit me over a bulky jacket. The first thing I noticed is that it is super bulky. The bird bag wraps all the way around, which allows the sides of the vest to stick out pretty far. It definitely makes me look as wide as I am tall. Due to the bulk, the vest is heavier than I expected, as well.
The bottom line: I wore this at my NAVHDA Natural Ability test and really liked it. Overall, it's comfortable, I appreciate being able to access the bird bag from the front, and the pockets are great. Although I do wish it wasn't so bulky, I think the quality and price make up for it. We will see how it holds up long-term, but overall I give it 4/5 stars.
